Physical changes during adolescence for girls.. breast growth. body hair. Vaginal secretions. menstrual periods. Height increase

Physical changes during adolescence for girls:
There are major physical changes that girls can expect during puberty, including:

breast growth:

  • Girls usually start puberty between the ages of 8 and 13.
  • The first sign of puberty for most girls is the appearance of breast 'buds', which are small bumps under the nipple.
  • Uneven breast growth and pain are normal and usually improve with time.

body hair:

  • Coarse hair begins to grow in the genital area, under the arms and legs.
  • For some girls, pubic hair may be the first sign of puberty, and it may appear before breast development begins.

Vaginal secretions:

  • Some girls experience a small to moderate amount of clear or white vaginal discharge, which begins around 6-12 months before their first period.
  • Vaginal discharge is a normal response to the increased amounts of estrogen in the body.

menstrual periods:

  • Most girls get their first period within 2-3 years after the development of breast buds.
  • The average age of girls when they start their first period is about 12 years old.
  • Some girls have bright red blood on their first period, while other girls may only have spotting with a red-brown discharge and both are normal.
  • The cycles may be irregular in the early years, then the body adapts to the rapid physiological changes, and the menstrual cycle becomes more regular.

Height increase:

  • The rate of height growth in girls increases between the onset of breast bud development and about 6 months before the onset of menstruation.
  • Once a girl enters her first menstrual period, her growth begins to slow.

note:

The girl's hips expand and her waist may become smaller, in addition to some changes associated with hormonal changes, such as the appearance of the smell of sweat under the armpits, the presence of a specific body odor, and the increased secretion of the oily substance by the skin; Which makes them more need to use deodorants, shampoos and others.
